Your Role

You advise and work together with the customer and Aknostic team in the design, implementation and operation of cloud-based solutions. You provide technical leadership and expertise in cloud-based solutions, driving and supporting innovation and continuous improvement in this area. This role is both (hands on) technical and customer-facing. You:

  • Design and develop cloud infrastructure, services, and application architectures that fulfill business needs and requirements;
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
  • Actively engage with customers to drive the cloud infrastructure's technical decisions in line with the long-term technical vision, strategy and business goals;
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams; 
  • Actively contribute to the improvement of our technology and workflows by suggesting and implementing best practices;
  • Share insights through Tech Talks;
  • Create documentation that describes the system architecture, technical specifications, and other important details;
  • Participate in on-call rotations.

Skills you bring to the table:

  • Evident experience as a Cloud Architect.
  • In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, AWS and Azure.
  • Experience designing and implementing complex cloud architectures.
  • Proficient with infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Deep understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with security best practices and compliance frameworks.
  • Bachelor or master degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong communication (in NL and ENG) and collaboration skills.
  • Analytical thinking, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Leadership qualities and the ability to guide teams.

    What we offer:

    Working at Aknostic means you will get the freedom to organize your work in return for responsibility and flexibility. You must be based in the Netherlands. On average you work one day per week from our customers' office.
    Thursdays we all come together in our office at the Oudegracht in Utrecht with a view on the Dom tower. We have a nice lunch, there are company meetings and around 4pm we drink a (non-alcoholic) beer with each other. On sunny days we sail around the city on a colleague’s boat.

    A Cloud Architect receives a good salary around €6500 a month based on experience. We also offer some nice secondary benefits;
